It’s been a Super Bowl tradition for years now: advertisers pay top dollar to create the funniest, the wittiest, the best commercials to run during the Super Bowl. Nevermind the cost of creating an ad, estimated cost to run a 30-second commercial during Super Bowl is around $2.6 million!

In 2011, Volkswagen joined the elite group of advertisers. Volkswagen will run a commercial for its 2012 Volkswagen Passat during 2011 Super Bowl.

See Volkswagen Super Bowl Ad:

About the ad: A child in a Darth Vader suit runs around the house trying to use his “powers” to impact an object or an animal. He approaches 2012 Volkswagen Passat and finds it light up when he applies the “powers”. The kid is happy! (Of course, a different angle shows the parents pressing the remote start button when the kid “powers” up the 2012 Volkswagen Passat.
