Volkswagen is on a roll when it comes to successful commercials… it’s Darth Vader campaign won the hearts and minds of Super Bowl views. But now Volkswagen released what appears to be yet another ad hit: 2012 Volkswagen Passat.

The ad features a pre-teen child “driving” shopping cart that’s made to look like a car (Volkswagen Passat, mind you) through a busy supermarket. Let’s just say that it’s a very well done ad with a crystal clear ad message. See for your self…

It’s official! 2012 Volkswagen Beetle is out. VW began airing commercials for its new Beetle this week. Check it out:

According to CarAdvice.com, Volkswagen’s R&D (research and development) budget beat those of other vehicle giants. Here’s how the R&D budgets broke down in 2010:

Volkswagen: $9.2 billion

Toyota: $8.5 billion

GM: $7 billion

Chrysler: $6.5 billion

Honda: $5.7 billion

This is great news for Volkswagen drivers. VW has been raising some eyebrows recently with its tremendous growth strategy, and an aggresive investment into R&D will only drive innovation for the future.

Volkswagen’s strategy of aggressively going after the US market must be paying off big time for Volkswagen. The company released a July sales figures and they are impressive. In a single month of July alone - Volkswagen sold over 29,000 vehicles (~22% more than previous year). This marks a record sales month since 2002.

Some noteworthy details:

• 1 in every 4 vehicles sold was a clean diesel TDI engine vehicle
• Best Golf sales since 2008
• 62% increase in Jetta sales since last year
