How do you say “Volkswagen” in chinese? We are not big on linguistics but we are big on Volkswagens… According to revenue data reported by the auto giants, Volkswagen came out # 1 in the Chinese market.

2010 Estimated Profit Data:

Volkswagen: $9.42 billion

Ford: $6.56 billon

Toyota: $6 billion

GM: $4.7 billion

Volkswagen sold over 7.2 million vehicles in 2010 in China. This has been a record sales year for Volkswagen since it first entered Chinese market over 30 years ago. According to VW’s own aspirations, Volkswagen is in a position to become #1 car maker later on this decade if the strong growth trajectory continues in BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia, India and China).

“Hey there convertible lovers!” – this is probably more or less the gist of the announcement Volkswagen recently made about its future plans. Specifically, Volkswagen revealed its plans to bring back Volkswagen Cabrio. More information is supposed to be announced at Geneva. Stay tuned!
