2011 Volkswagen Golf rolled into dealer’s showrooms with a big media blast. Not quite the same blast as 2012 Volkswagen Beetle on Oprah’s Favorite Things show but big nonetheless. So what is all the fuss about?

2011 Volkswagen Golf comes with the following perks:

• Fuel efficient 2.5L engine (22 miles/gallon in the city: better than Mazda 3)
• 170 horsepower (as powerful as Subaru Impreza)
• Volkswagen’s Maintenance package (additional extended warranty not included)
• Decent legroom (although not quite as big as in Mazda 3)
• Pretty small cargo space (but then again.. if you’re buying Golf you probably knew that already)
• MSRP: $17,965

Bottom line:  Not a bad offer but not quite mind-blowing
